ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) Temporary Traffic Regulation Order of Hall Road, Church Street, Crow Street, High Street, Chickney Road, Henham Road, Scotts Farm Lane, Henham
Please click on the following link https://roadworks.org?tm=104167411 to find details of the intended closure of Hall Road, due to commence on 16th February 2018 for 1 day. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst Essex County Council undertakes Phase 1 of Surface Dressing works.
The phases of the works are specified below: Phase 1: Pre-Surface Dressing Works - The crews will patch any potholes and other defects then ensure the surface is made level, some roads will also require further Joint Sealing, Kerb Realignment and Drain/Manhole cover replacement works to take place. Phase 2: Surface Dressing Works - The crews will spray the existing road surface with a coating of hot bitumen and cover it with stone chippings. The chippings are then rolled into the bitumen to form a water-resistant protective layer which makes the road less slippery and extends its life. Phase 3: Post Surface Dressing Works - After approximately 7 to 10 days the crews will then return to the road to sweep up any loose chippings that have not been pressed into the bitumen and appropriate road markings will be added.
